Remote (Wilderness) First Aid
Due to overwhelming demand, these courses are currently only available for private groups or government/corporate clients, and we are currently booking 2-6 months in advance. Please contact us for more information.
This course is approved by WorkSafe BC as equivalent to Occupational First Aid Level 1 (OFA-1)
This fun, hands-on course covers the essential first aid skills required for planning, preventing injury, promoting safety, and responding to emergencies in remote and wilderness environments. The course carries a Red Cross certification for 3 years.
All of our instructors have professional backgrounds and experience, including Canadian Rangers, Paramedics, Combat Medics, Firefighters, and Nurses.
The course begins on Friday evening at 6pm at our Training Centre in Metchosin, and then moves into the Matheson Lake Regional Park for Saturday and Sunday. Due to the fairly physical (and fun!) nature of the course, it requires a moderate level of fitness.
This course includes the Red Cross manual.
Certificate is valid for 3 years.
