Participants must have their “Basic Security Training Certificate” before enrolling for the Advanced Security Training. Students must bring their BST Certificate or a valid security license on day 1 of the AST program.

Please note

  • Registration is non refundable or transferable. Participants will receive a full refund if the course is cancelled due to low registration. 
  • Registration cut off will be October 15, 2023. 
  • Each student is required to pay separately for the online exam.

Pre-Requisite/ Required Documentation:

Participants must complete and sign the below Par Q and produce it in hand on Day 1 of the course. Please click on the below document to view/ print. The instructor will provide also provide you with a waiver at the start of Day 1 that must be completed prior to the start of this program.

  • Participants must have their “Basic Security Training Certificate” before enrolling for the Advanced Security Training. Students must bring their BST Certificate or a valid security license on day 1 of the AST program.

Required Clothing/ Equipment:

  • Handcuffs, handcuff pouch, and keys are not provided. Handcuffs must be chain link (not hinged or fixed). Participants must purchase these in advance prior to taking the course. Please contact Sheepdog Self-Protection Inc for suggested retailers.
  • Please wear pants with belt loops and a belt.
  • Please wear comfortable clothing and non marking footwear.

Class Size:

  • Minimum/ Maximum  of 12 Participants/ Class.

Joining Instructions:

  • Participants must attend all training sessions and successfully complete the learner assessment activities.
  • Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the course to check in.
  • Successful participants will receive their Certification for Training Completion electronically from the JIBC who administers the written test for an additional fee.
  • Hygiene- Deodorant. Long hair worn up. Fingernails trimmed.
  • Please bring water and snacks. Although there will be a morning and an afternoon break, there is insufficient time to leave the venue. Participants will have a 45 minutes‑1 hour long lunch to which you are welcome to leave the venue. There are 2 restaurants in the area.
